Captivated by the dark curls he brushed out of hyacinth eyes and by his lithe body, Echo crept behind Narcissus, hiding behind trees when he looked round. For all her care a twig snapped under her foot and he spun round calling ‘Who’s there?’.  But Echo was only able to respond ‘Who’s there…..’ The faltering sound reverberated through the valley, bouncing off the granite cliff face…
